Apart from nutritional benefits, studies suggest that milk works great for stress management due to the presence of an ingredient called tryptophan. Tryptophan is responsible for the production of serotonin in our body. Serotonin stabilizes our mood, thereby helps one curb stress. Along with a glass of milk in the morning, don’t forget to have whole wheat toast. Whole wheat toast is loaded with Vitamin-B complex that can decrease stress levels in our body.
Chocolate lovers can also jump off their seats as they would be glad to know that chocolate consumption can also decrease stress. The inclusion of magnesium in most chocolate flavors relaxes our mind. Stress management diet should also comprise of proteins, vitamins and minerals. Protein derived from plant sources work best, when it comes to eradicating stress.
Besides this, stay away from alcohol and cigarette as they will only contribute to your stress. Alcohol can hugely affect your sleep. During stressful times, one can’t really afford to skip good sleep. Caffeine lovers should consider some other alternatives, as caffeine can also induce stress.
